    California Attorney General and likely 2010 gubernatorial candidate, Jerry Brown, issued subpoenas to Moody's Investors, Fitch Ratings, and Standard & Poor's.  These three, major credit rating agencies will be investigated to see if they broke state law by issuing the highest ratings to mortgage-backed securities that collapsed and sparked the financial meltdown.
